How do I find out what an accident claim should be worth?

I was involved in a traffic accident almost 2 years ago, when a lady rear-ended me at a stop light. My knee was hurt, and I got whiplash, and bad headaches. The knee pain lasted for over a year, and I still have neck pain and headaches. Nothing was broken, but I had to go for a lot of tests, and physical therapy. As a result of the accident, I was unable to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime vacation that my family went on only one month later. The insurance company is offering $2500. I think that is very unfair for missing my vacation and nearly two years of pain and discomfort. I also feel that it is very unfair to me, because the insurance company has a whole organization behind them, but they say that if I talk to a lawyer about it, they will no longer talk with me, and I will be forced to sue. I’m not sure what to do, and I want to know if there is a website where you can find fair average compensation for different types of injuries. Any other advice would also be welcome.

Yes insurance and life is not fair. Stop feeling like a victim and you won’ t be treated like one.

Ask for more and see what they tell you.

Tell them you’ll have to get a lawyer if you don’t like what you hear which means they may have to give you even more to get you what you want as a lawyer usually takes a third of the cut of the total bill.

Did you go to doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, physical therapists until you were pain free? Did they pay for that?
