Does “law-related employment” on the NY bar application include working as a clerical temp in a law firm?
If so, I would have to get about 50 affidavits filled out. If they consider the temp agencies and not the law firms to be my employers, I would still need about 15 affidavits. And I can’t remember most of them. I don’t wish to ask the bar this question for fear they will say “yes.”
If it was strictly a clerical job, then usually not. It would have to be a law clerk, research assistant, paralegal, etc. – those types of jobs that are normally considered “law-related employment.”
Technically, your “employer” during that time was the temporary employment agency.
