What should be our compensation?
There was a chain reaction of accidents. A SUV hit the car behind our car and then it hit us(with force) and we hit a car in front of us. (nothing serious). The people that were in our family car (only 2) had injuries.. which i think that will last some time (neck and back).. The cost to repair our car is around $7000-$10000 dollars.. The back bumper and trunk door, tailpipe/exhaust, the front bumper, the radio popped out(Also the car was acting weird , sort of smoking)(maybe because the exhaust was covered, which could’ve affected another part).. We bought a 1997 buick lesabre for about $9000 used(A couple of years back)… excellent condition.. and now it only costs about $1500-$3000.. so paying for repairs would cost more than the car itself.. wouldn’t getting another car be better? Im not saying a new car… a used one (older model) not a 2008-2010 model.
look up the make model and year of your car on NADA GUIDES, or national automobile dealers association, and see if their price is different, insurance companies do not like to pay what the car may be worth, but may affix a value below market value, If you believe the insurance company offer is too low for your car, you have the right to refuse the insurance companies offer for your car, you have the right to ask the insurance company for an independent appraisal and you can show any information from nada guides, or auto trader or anything else that supports a better higher appraisal such as any expensive repairs done recently. sometimes you have to fight for what you deserve, these insurance companies are difficult to work with sometimes. I am going to look up nada guide price for your lesabre I did not know the mileage so I guessed, but a 4 door buick lesabre in good condition is retail at 4,600 dollars, the 4 door Limited retail value is 5000 dollars, this is the minimum you should take for your buick if it is in good condition, you can look up this information on NADA.com, click on the consumer button check what your car is worth yourself, hope this helps
